Belt Making with Hadston Leather | Wednesday 8th August 2018 @ 7.00pm
We are excited to be welcoming Hadston Leather to bonds. Hackney, who will be hosting an intimate leathercraft workshop in store.
Hadston Leather was founded by Alison Riley through a love of craftsmanship and the values that it holds. Alison learnt the traditional leatherworking techniques from a master saddler at the Cumbria School of Saddlery in 2011 and 2013.
Come and learn about the leatherworking techniques of edge beveling, burnishing (polishing) and riveting. Alison will guide you through these and you’ll then get to practice these skills whilst making your own leather belt.
Choosing between black or brown leather, you'll have the opportunity to construct your own bespoke belt. Pick your buckle from either brass or stainless steel and then rivet this along with the belt loop in place. Finally you’ll measure the holes that fasten the belt and punch them out to complete.
No experience is required and all materials/equipment are supplied. The leather we’ll be using is 3mm thick vegetable tanned leather.
bonds. Hackney 5a Gransden Avenue London E8 3QA
Class strictly limited to 8 attendees / £65 pp
Prior to the workshop, Alison will get in contact to find out your choice of leather colour and the size/length of the belt you need. Full info on how to measure your size will be given.
All workshop attendees will receive a 20% discount to use in store.
Please note that we don't send out physical tickets. The confirmation email is your e-ticket.
